After a tour I'd Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica, we needed a light lunch. As we wondered into Piazza Navona we saw Bernini Restaurant. Yelp liked it so we thought we'd try too. Did not disappoint. The bread and regular bruschetta were best we have had in 7 days in Italy...and we have had a lot. Caesar salad was also a nice light choice if you're tired of pasta. Only disappointment was smoked salmon bruschetta. It was more like salmon toast...not bad, but not great.
Overall a great experience! -

Great little restaurant right on Piazza Navona. We were able to eat outside on the square even in December due to some heat lamps. The bruschetta was amazing and the penne arrabiatta was tasty. It was not super spicy and not as al dente as some other places, depending on what you're looking for. Overall though the service was decent and would go back again! We were able to walk in around 7:30pm on a Friday during Christmas season.

Absolutely amazing! This was our first meal and the best we had in Rome (other than Da Enzo al 29). Both were tied for #1 picks for us. Here's where Bernini got it way right:
1. No wait. Although I did call to make a reservation, it wasn't really needed.
2. Awesome, friendly staff with great recommendations about what to order.
3. Clean restaurant; ideal location right in the plaza. Though locals may think this is a tourist trap, the food did not scream tourist!
4. The effing food! O....M....G! Lasagna: 4/5 must order. Ravioli in a white sauce (forgot the name): 5/5 must order! This was my fave. Pizza: 5/5 and the best pizza we had in Rome. Thin crust which I loved and it tasted great. See all my pics. Don't miss the pizza and the ravioli!
5. Lambrusco wine on their menu was incredible.
Loved Bernini and I'll never forget this place. -

Best meal we've had in Italy all week! Staff was friendly and accommodating. Outdoor seating in December was warm under the heat lamps. Great wine list. Highly recommend the lasagna (it is the recipe of the owner's grandmother..... and it's amazing!) and the mushroom, spinach and bacon ravioli in cream sauce. We've never seen our son eat so much in one sitting! Being right in the piazza was a bonus! Great place!!!!!!

A must try restaurant when you're in Rome, Italy!!! These are the foods I've tried and would highly recommend: spaghetti with meatballs, lasagna, tiramisu, mussels & clams sauté, and the ice coffee Bernini. Delicious!!! We would come here again if we ever have another chance.
